About Rachel
Rachel Hulstein-Lowe, MSW, LICSW
My Background
I am trained as a clinical social worker and have been a clinician in private practice in the Metrowest Boston area since 2010. Through play, talk and humor, I support anxious kids, anxious teens and anxious parents. In addition, as the parent of an enby teen, I have both personal and professional experience supporting trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth and adults.

I view my clients as the experts of their own experience. My role is to empathically listen and facilitate each individual’s or family’s desire to improve the quality of their lives. I work relationally and mindfully, with a keen interest in exploring intersectionality, systemic challenges, and the associated stress. I am a cis, hetero, married, mom of two. My office is located on the stolen lands of the Pawtucket tribe of MA.

I obtained my B.A. from Truman State University (MO) and my M.S.W. from Smith College School for Social Work (MA). I worked in foster care, dual-diagnosis recovery services, and program development in Northern California and London, England prior to starting my own business. I continue to consult and write about these populations and ways of working.
